
The 20th World Scout Jamboree to Thailand
28th December 2002 - 8th January 2003
Maidenhead is part of the Royal County of Berkshire. Berkshire and sent a Unit of
36 young people to the last world jamboree who were aged between the ages of 14 and 17 on the 28th December 2002
and who are members of Scout Groups in Berkshire.

Out of the 36 places Maidenhead has had 15 Scouts selected, from six Groups:
The 20th World Scout Jamboree was held in Sattahip, Chanburi province, about 180 kms east of Bangkok. The camp site is located on a beautiful beach on the gulf of Thailand.
Those young people, were chosen to represent the county and join thousands of other Scouts from across the world on this amazing International experience. This amazing experience included going to Singapore after the Jamboree. They were away for Christmas and New Year.
This once in a lifetime opportunity will include:
The cost per Scout was in the region of £2650.
The District has given each Scout £500 towards the cost of going to Thailand.
They will also be expected to attend WINGS 2003 (Windsor international Guide and Scout Camp) in August 2003, to pass their experiences of the Jamboree on to all the Scouts and Guides who attend this event
