Maidenhead Young Leaders went on a Weekend trip to Dover and included a day trip to Calais. We arrived on the Saturday night and put tents up just in time before the thunder and lightening started. Saturday was an early rise to catch the ferry across to France. We walked around the town and then climbed 271 steps up to the top of the lighthouse! We had a brief trip to the hypermarket and then it was time to go home. Back in Dover we ate fish and chips and played games in the dark on the beach. Sunday was planned to go Gliding, but the visibility was too poor, so we played skittles and then we went to Dover Castle. Before going home we visited the Grand Shaft (more stairs!) and then the Redoubt. A good weekend was had by all.
