This District Explorer Unit is very pleased to be hosted by the 1st Cookham Scout Group.
We benefit from a great headquarters and loads of equipment, all at our disposal.
Our programme involves a balance between the wild outdoors and 'socialising' at the HQ or round someone's house!
Many of the outdoor activities we undertake will require a certain level of skill or understanding/teamwork. Watch the programme carefully - we will ensure that there are ample opportunities to train and gain skills before some of the big events, if this is needed.
The programme will support the members of the Unit as they progress through their Chief Scout's Awards and their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and always, the programme will be developed and managed by the Unit Executive.
As part of the programme we will also support many of the activities the Cub and Scout Sections undertake - not only is this good fun, but it helps the Group and our Awards too.
Usually we meet on Fridays, allowing plenty of scope for evening activities and camps, but some meetings will be on other evenings, like the kayaking, so again - watch the programme!
