Beaveree was attended by all the Colonies. 219 - Beavers/Helpers. Theme was Olympics. Opening Ceremony with the Colony Flags flying. Activities included obstacle course, making an edible Olympic flame, making an Olympic medal, designing a flag, throwing a discus, darts, hurdles, making a gymnastic ribbon, making an Olympic passport, fruit kebabs with Greek yoghurt - beavers don;t like Greek yoghurt! There were others too but I didn't get enough time to visit each base.
The District Good Turn this year was in aid of Milly's Fund, in memory of Milly Dowler aimed at helping children and young adults to live safer lives by providing training and education in personal safety. The Beavers raised £1, 054 by a number of ways - e.g. sponsored silences, scavenger hunt, sponsored swim, Bring and Buy sales. Mr Bob Dowler came along to collect the money and gave a short talk about the safety of youngsters.
The Beaver Trophy was presented to the 9th Maidenhead Colony.
